Fire Destroys Home Under Renovation

Slidell, LA. – St. Tammany Fire District #1 responded to the report of a residential structure fire at 108 Hollywood Dr. in Slidell.  Firefighters arrived on the scene in eight minutes to find a 1200 square foot single story home fully involved with fire.  They were able to bring the situation under control and extinguish the fire within 15 minutes of arriving on the scene.

A neighbor was alerted by the sound of a large boom and looked out a window to see fire coming from the rear of the home, then called 911.  The owner was not home at the time of the fire, as the residence was being renovated from a previous fire.  The house was completely destroyed by the fire.  The fire is currently under investigation.  No injuries were reported.
