Chief of Administration Promotion
St. Tammany Fire District #1 Fire Chief Chris Kaufmann has promoted Bobby Worchel to Chief of Administration, which will take effect on September 1, 2014. He has worked with the fire department since 1988. In his 26 years, Bobby worked his way through the suppression ranks before he took a position doing the I.T. and radio work. During the past 6 years, he has worked closely with the administrative team to see that the vision and goals of the department were met.
As Chief of Administration, Worchel will oversee the internal divisions of Administration, Fire Prevention and Communications as well as be the liaison to all of the third party entities such as Human Resources, Accounting, Insurance and Legal.
Worchel is a graduate of Slidell High School class of 1984 and holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science Technologies from Delgado Community College.
He and his wife Becky have been married for 19 years and have three children Sarah, Claire, and Robbie.
