Firefighters Stop RV Fire from Spreading to Adjacent Building

Slidell, LA. – St. Tammany Fire District #1 respond to a fully engulfed RV parked
next to a building located at 1614 Gause Blvd. West in Slidell.  Firefighters
arrived on the scene in a little under 7 minutes to find intense flames and billowing
smoke coming from the vehicle.  Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and
bring the scene under control within 13 minutes of arriving on the scene and prevented
the fire from spreading to an adjacent building.

The owner of the RV was working on the fuel pump when a spark ignited the fuel in
the gas tank.  The owner called 911 from a cell phone and unsuccessfully attempted
to extinguish the fire.  The owner suffered minor injuries and was checked out by
Acadian Ambulance Service on the scene.  No firefighters were injured.
