  • Fill out, sign, and submit both the Firefighter Application and the STFPD#1 Application Waivers to [email protected]
  • Submit the following documents along with your application and waivers to [email protected] :
    • a copy of your drivers license
    • proof of the education requirement (i.e., high school diploma, college diploma or transcripts)
    • proof that you are a United States citizen (i.e., birth certificate, US Passport).
    • copies of any applicable additional certificates or training (for example: CPR, EMR, EMT, ICS, – if FF already, include FFI, HazMat)
  • Once your Application, Waivers and additional documents are received at [email protected], you will receive an email from the STFPD#1 Training Academy confirming receipt and informing you of the next steps in the process, including applying to take the Civil Service Exam for Firefighter

**Note: As of August 1st, 2024, all Firefighter, Fire Communications Officer and Secretary to the Chief examinations will be given exclusively through the State Examiner’s Office at https://ose.louisiana.gov/testing-employment/competitive-applicants/**

Civil Service Boards will no longer call for these exams, as they are ongoing and available through the Office of State Examiner.
