We would like to thank everyone that attended our new Fire Station 18 ground breaking ceremony this morning. For those who were unable to attend, I have attached a picture and included a dropbox link with some additional pictures.
The new Fire Station 18 will bring much needed fire protection to the residential neighborhoods and commercial businesses in the area, as well as reduce response times. In 2015, there were a total of 254 calls for service in Fire Station 18’s area (2 structure fires, 8 vehicle fires, and 133 EMS/Rescue calls), to highlight the major calls. In emphasizing the impact of the new Fire Station, Fire Chief Chris Kaufmann said “this will provide fire protection for the future development of this area including the new Dr. T.J. Smith Sr. Expressway”.
