House Under Renovation Catches Fire
Slidell, LA. – St. Tammany Fire District #1 responded to the report of a residential structure fire at 103 Rue Acadian in Slidell. Firefighters arrived on the scene in just under five minutes to find a 3500 square foot home with heavy flames and smoke coming through the rear roof. They were able to bring the situation under control and extinguish the fire within 19 minutes of arriving on the scene.
A neighbor noticed smoke coming from the roof and called 911. The house was being renovated from a previous fire. Approximately half of the home suffered heavy fire and heat damage, while the remainder of the home had moderate smoke damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time. No injuries were reported.
