Owners Awakened by Late Night Fire
Slidell, LA. – St. Tammany Fire District #1 responded to the report of a residential structure fire at 123 W. Pinewood Dr. in Slidell. Firefighters arrived on the scene in just under five minutes to find a 2500 square foot home with heavy flames and smoke coming from the front of the home. They were able to bring the situation under control and extinguish the fire within 14 minutes of arriving on the scene.
One of the residents was awakened by the smell of smoke and discovered the fire in a front playroom. They were able to safely evacuate the home and ran next door to alert the neighbors, who called 911. Approximately half of the home suffered heavy fire and heat damage, while the remainder of the home had heavy smoke damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time. No injuries were reported.
