Firefighters Respond to a House Fire on Good Friday
Slidell, LA. – St. Tammany Fire District #1 responded to a residential structure fire
at 2742 Lincoln Ave. in Slidell. Firefighters arrived on the scene in a little over
4 minutes to find smoke and flames showing from a 1000 square foot single story residence
and an attached shed. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 16 minutes of
arriving on the scene.
The occupant had been sleeping, and when she awoke, she smelled smoke and discovered
the fire. The occupant then evacuated the residence and called 911. The fire appears
to have started in an attached shed and spread to the house. There was heavy fire
damage to the shed and approximately 25 percent fire damage to the home. No injuries
were reported.
