Chief of Fire Prevention Promotion
St. Tammany Fire Dist. #1 Fire Chief Larry Hess has promoted Chad Duffaut
to Chief of Fire Prevention. He has worked with the fire department since
1992 and has been in the Fire Prevention Bureau since 1998.
As Chief of Fire Prevention, Duffaut will oversee all of the activities of
the Bureau including commercial building inspections, public fire education,
and fire investigations.
Duffaut is a graduate of Salmen High School class of 1988. He holds an
Associate’s Degree in Fire Science Technologies from Delgado Community
College. He also served in the Louisiana Air National Guard from 1989 to 1997.
He and his wife Carolyn have been married for 22 years and have three children.
