Free Smoke Detector Batteries

St. Tammany Fire District No. 1 and Energizer provide free replacement batteries for smoke alarms.

Every year we urge residents to change their smoke detector batteries when they set their clocks back for daylight savings time. This year we did not advertise our usual smoke detector battery giveaway due to a delay in the shipment of donated batteries. The batteries have arrived and are now available at any of the following locations:

• Fire Station I – 322 Bouscaren St.      Slidell, LA  70458

• Fire Station II -1570 West Hall Ave. Slidell, LA 70460

• Fire Station III -101 Normandy Dr. Slidell, LA  70458

• Fire Station IV -297 Steele Rd.  Slidell, LA  70461

• Fire Station V -58405 Holly Dr.           Slidell, LA  70460

• Fire Station VI -320 Marina Dr.         Slidell, LA  70458

• Fire Station VII -850 Brownswitch Rd. Slidell, LA  70458

This is a great opportunity for those folks who have not yet changed the batteries in their smoke alarms this year, to do so at no cost. Residents are also urged to contact St. Tammany Fire District No. 1 Fire Prevention Bureau (985-649-3665) to schedule a free home safety inspection.
