Fully Involved Garage Fire Damages Home
Slidell, LA. – St. Tammany Fire District #1 responded to the report of a residential structure fire at 465 Parlange Dr., in the Magnolia Forest subdivision. Firefighters arrived on the scene in under seven minutes to find a 3800 square foot single story home, with the garage fully involved with fire. They were able to bring the situation under control and extinguish the fire within 26 minutes of arriving on the scene.
A neighbor looked out a window and saw fire coming from the garage, then called 911. The owners were not home at the time of the fire. The garage was completely destroyed by the fire and one third of the home suffered heavy heat and smoke damage. The remainder of the home had heavy smoke damage. The fire is currently under investigation. One firefighter was taken to the hospital with a minor injury.
