Morning Fire Damages Vacant Home

Slidell, LA. – St. Tammany Fire District #1 responded to the report of a residential structure fire at 2505 Adele Dr. in the Belair subdivision in Slidell.  Firefighters arrived on the scene in eleven minutes to find a two story 2400 square foot home with heavy smoke coming from the second floor.  They were able to bring the situation under control and extinguish the fire within twelve minutes of arriving on the scene.

A neighbor, who was walking his dog, noticed smoke coming from the rear of the home called 911 from a cell phone.  Neighbors reported that the home had been vacant for several years and that kids were frequently seen hanging around the property.  There was moderate fire damage to the rear exterior wall and second floor of the home.  The fire was intentionally set and is currently under investigation by the St. Tammany Fire District #1 fire investigators and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.  Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact the fire department at 985-646-4387.  No injuries were reported.
