Slidell Fire Department receives Smoke Detector Grant from FM Global
Slidell, LA. – On Thursday, December 19, 2013, St. Tammany Fire District #1 was
awarded a grant for $3,000 from FM Global for the purchase of smoke detectors.
The grant will ensure that additional smoke detectors will be on hand as requests
are received from needy families throughout the community. The smoke detectors
will be available to Slidell residents while supplies last. St. Tammany Fire
District #1 currently has an aggressive smoke detector installation program in
place to help protect its citizens from the threat of fire. Anyone in Slidell
that is in need of a smoke detector is asked to contact the St. Tammany Fire
District #1 Headquarters at 985-646-4387.
