Attic Fire Heavily Damages Home

Slidell, LA. – St. Tammany Fire District #1 responded to a residential structure
fire at 3637 Peach Tree St. in Slidell.  Firefighters arrived on the scene in
5 minutes to find heavy smoke and flames showing through the roof of a 2000
square foot single story residence.   Firefighters were able to extinguish the
fire and bring the situation under control within 25 minutes of arriving on the
scene.

The owner was not home at the time of the fire.  A neighbor saw smoke coming
from the home and called 911.  The residence received heavy fire damage to the
attic and moderate smoke damage to 50 percent of the home.  The cause of the
fire is under investigation.  No injuries were reported.
